Student Support Services

Inspiring growth and confidence through inclusion and supportive teaching.

Known & Loved

A Place to Belong

At LCA, we believe that every child is made in the image of God and will thrive in a loving community.  We understand that a sense of belonging can transform a child’s educational journey.  As 1 Corinthians 12:12 says, “For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, through man, are one body, so it is with Christ.”   We are proud members of the All Belong Center for Inclusive Education, which allows our Student Support Services Coordinator to work closely with expert inclusion specialists.  Together, we craft personalized plans tailored to your child’s strengths and needs.

Intentional Teaching

Including a Variety of Learners

Excellent learning support starts with outstanding teaching!  Our dedicated faculty is passionate about creating engaging lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.  Our teachers adapt their instructional methods to meet each child’s needs.  Faculty utilize visual aids, graphic organizers, manipulatives, hands-on learning, check-ins and other learning strategies  with consultation from our Student Support Services Coordinator.   Instructional aides and our Student Support Services Coordinator strategically push-in and pull-out students to offer further support, while also connecting qualifying students with Intermediate Unit (IU) services in reading and math tutoring.  Secondary students enjoy math-help built into the schedule and optional drop-in math help two mornings a week before school.  Quiet testing areas and a sensory room are available for students who need additional time.

Guided Pathways

Student Success Plans (SSP)

At LCA, we create Student Success Plans  or “SSPs” for students with additional learning needs to support them in their educational journey.  SSPs utilize data and information from IEPs, 504s, and any other vital resources to form a roadmap for academic achievement.  Teachers, students, and parents collaborate together to implement the SSP to help each student meet their educational goals.  Faculty consult the SSP for tips and strategies for teaching each student.  The SSP is designed to help faculty know kids personally and how they learn.  Parents and faculty collaborate with the Student Support Services Coordinator to maintain the SSP.  Parents enjoy knowing the agreed expectations and appreciate using the document to improve communication with faculty and hold students accountable.
